He has clarified that the municipality is also preparing regulations to treat wandering dogs, including how a dog can be adopted, which the capital's veterinarian will treat for free at any time.
The “Action started last night and will continue in the coming days, Mayor Rama has decided to address the issue of wandering dogs that have been and it is a serious issue and issues that have concerned residents of the capital. We've started since last night to move the stray dogs from the streets of the capital and place them in shelters that are licensed by the Veterina and Food Agency. We're sheltering them and only in shelter which is licensed and monitored by AVUK. As a subvention or motivation, we have decided to subsidize both physical persons and legal persons by 50 euros per month, this housing case, which is licensed by AVUK, will be subsidised by 50 euros from the municipality where the housing of stray dogs” will be housed.
Even physical persons, so citizens on the basis of the interest that interests are fortunate, we have great interest in citizens who are interested in adopting dogs and will link contracts with municipalities for subvention, but we need to keep in mind that adoption will be made only through housing which is licensed and will be made by dogs dealing centers. So the citizen can't go and get the dogs on the street, but he needs to go to the shelter and the shelter will give a dog for adoption that's sterilized, rinse, vaccinated and fat. I will link contracts with the capital and be subsidised on a 50-euro monthly basis for being. Fulfilling the commitments that will result from the contract, as well as the citizen as the capital. We should also present fines in case the dog is mistreated, or in case it is issued by the owner”.
“They will be kept there until they are adopted, treated and kept in the centre until adopted. There will be no other process to ensure citizens, except that it is defined with administrative instruction”.
According to him, the municipality is taking numerous actions to deal with wandering dogs, where 1m and 300 thousand euros have been allocated so far.
