Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, announced on Thursday that a team of international, European and American experts has drafted a draft state for the Association of Serb-run municipalities in Kosovo.
He said the same has been sent to two European leaders -- France's Emmanuel Macroni and Germany's Olaf Scholz -- reports Clankosova.tv.
And in Kosovo it seems that politicians were taken by surprise by Rama's announcement. In addition to PDK deputy Enver Hoxhaj, who said he saw the draft, others were declared to have no information on it.
The government even criticised the fact that Rama has not consulted them in preparing this proposal.
But another Albanian politician claiming to have read this Rama proposal is Artan Grubi, deputy prime minister of Northern Macedonia.
For “Euronews Albania”, he stated that it is one of the people who has seen the draft state drafted by Prime Minister Rama for the establishment of the majority Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo.
Grubi chose not to give details about the initiative, but publicly expressed that he supports it.
Northern Macedonia's deputy prime minister underlined that Rama's initiative paves the way for extending the situation to the north and could lead to eventual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.
“I have read and communicated with Albanian authorities and have full support for Prime Minister Rama's initiative as a good initiative to proceed towards resolving the problem in the north, but also eventually between Kosovo and Serbia with mutual recognition”, Grubi said.
He said he offers full support for any efforts to overcome the situation created in northern Kosovo, “but also between Kosovo and Serbia as two states, but also between Kosovo and the international municipality and particularly the US under the new circumstances created”.
Any initiative and initiative on which further agreements can be built is welcome. I commend Prime Minister Rama for his willingness to lead this process to offer a sustainable solution. For us the only solution is mutual recognition between the two states, and this is our support, and this is our state position”, North Macedonia Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi said.
