Kosovo Police: 9 Official Journalists and Car Attacked in Leposavic

Kosovo police have reported that today, on June 16th, 2023, near the municipality of Leposaviqi by suspected persons has been attacked by various means (colored), the official vehicle which was in the company of the Ministry for Management of Local Power of RKS, which was on the run from the municipality of Leposavisic, since the same was on official duty in the municipality.

Also, according to police, in the vicinity of the Leposaviqi municipality by individual/ criminal groups a vehicle has been dropped, suspected fellow bomb, and physically assaulted some journalists of different Kosovo media. Based on information thus far, it is about nine attacked journalists who have been on official duty to convey developments near the Leposaviqi municipality, where some of them have suffered various bodily injuries as well as accepted medical treatment.

In addition to physical attacks and violence exerted on journalists, they have been damaged by various film equipment, where one of them has been robbed by the official media camera, while the other has been robbed of a cell phone”, the PC reported.

The obstruction of journalists in carrying out office, violation of free speech, obstructing reflections of the real situation, attacks and physical violence, as well as damage to vehicles and official equipment are criminal acts that will be investigated by Kosovo Police. In co-operation and co-ordination with justice organs, cases of assault on official persons, destruction or damage to property and bodily injury have been initiated. /Periscopi/
