Through a media communique, KMDLNj has expressed concern over the high number of injuries or even deaths at the workplace.
According to KMDLNj, in 99 percent of cases workers suffer, while in 1 percent of cases, employers are symbolically sentenced to injuries or deaths instead of work.
“KMDLNj has requested and reiterated that a job license should be removed from employers who do not provide conditions for jobs that are endangered by employees' lives. KMDLNj is concerned about the loss of the workers' lives, and in some cases there are minor persons”, said KMDLNj's response.
KMDLNj has expressed concern even with the small number of inspections and, reportedly, the symbolic sentences pronounced against companies.
Kosovo's “Intenspectorate has no capacity to cover all positions because the number of inspectors is in large proportion with the requirements for inspection. KMDLNj also expresses major disagreement over the stated sentences, which are highly symbolic”, said in the communique.
