Gashiq has earlier declared that Oliver Ivanovic's killer is “under defence” of German authorities and that Berlin is not giving Serbia the required information.
“We firmly reject the institutions that the author is under the protection of German authorities”, a German government spokesman said in a written response to the DW investigation.
The federal government has no knowledge of who killed Oliver Ivanoviqi on January 16th 2018 and has asked the Serbian government to clarify the Serbian Interior Minister's allegations as soon as possible, it said in response.
The government in Berlin has not concretely answered questions about whether the charges could have consequences in relations between the two countries, as well as what Serbia specifically requested and what German services have forwarded to Ivanovic's murder.
“Germania and Serbia co-operate closely in many areas linking us”, it is generally said in response.
