An Albanian from Durres, Mira Dreaj, married in Leposaviq to Serbian Dejan Slavkovic yesterday.
They were married to the Orthodox Church in Socanica, as the Albanian recently converted to Orthodox -- reports Kosovo Online.
After the church wedding, they have been strolling through the streets of Leposaviqi, even near the municipality building where Serb protests are continuing and the mayor of the municipality Lulzim Hetemi has been sheltered.
Mira said she now feels Serb, and that according to her, there are many Albanians of Serbian origin who do not know that.
I married Dejan for love, we met in Durres. Our knowledge and association lasted six months. I am happy to return to the faith of my ancestors. Now I feel Serbian. There are many people in Albania who have Serbian origin, and they don't know, or until now they were forbidden to know it -- Mira said, the woman from Durres who married the Serb in Leposaviq.
The son-in-law, Dejan, said Mira told him he would give birth to their children as Orthodox in Kosovo.
Thank you for agreeing to become one. Even if Mira had not accepted my faith, I would not have been angry. That was her wish. That told me -- I want to have your children as Orthodox in your Kosovo -- and that made me very happy -- said the Serb, Dejan.
Serbia gave this speech as it passed by the obstacles KFOR troops are staying in, near the municipality building where the new mayor is staying now and how long.
