Ukraine's president, Voldymyr Zelensky, has reiterated that Kiev is not behind an alleged attack on the Kremlin after his country was charged with a failed attempt to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin overnight.
Russia has blamed Kiev for the incident and has threatened to retaliate.
But speaking at a press conference in Helsinki today, Zelensky said: “We do not attack Putin, or Moscow, we fight on our territory. We're protecting our villages and cities”.
Asked why Russia has accused Ukraine of standing behind the alleged attack, Zelensky said Putin needed a way to motivate his people, as he “has no victory”.
