So far all witnesses in this process have given their testimony in largely closed public hearings.
Former President Hashim Thaci, former Prime Ministers Kadri Veselin and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former Vetevendosje deputies chief Rexhep Selimi, are charged with joint criminal enterprise in connection with murder, torture and cruel treatment at about 40 detention centres in 1998 (1999).
They are also accused of direct participation in intimidation, interrogation, and mistreatment of detainees at detention stations. The charges have largely denied Thaci, Veselin, Selimi and Krasniqi, as well as their defenders.
