Guxo Party Declaration About Developments in the Country

The Guxon party is paying close attention, but also, with the side of its representatives in institutions -- in Government and Parliament -- is participating in the newest developments in the country, especially those related to the situation in the country's north.

Following the recent local elections in the country's northern municipalities and the oath of elected mayors, placing mayors in municipal facilities to carry out their official duties is a legal obligation.

Directed criminal extremist groups broke out public threats, and on May 26th, 2023 blocked access to municipal facilities. The Ministry of Management of Local Power requested assistance, and Kosovo Police, within its legal competencies, were forced to take necessary measures to disperse the crowd, as they had earlier asked the protesters to release access to the facilities. The crowds of extremists have reacted violently in all three municipalities (Leposaviq, Zvecan and Zubin Potok), but mostly in Zvecan, and from attacks by various means, five police officials have been injured, as well as caused material damage. The mayors are located in their offices at MAPL's request.

The same scenario of organised criminal groups has been implemented on the morning of May 29th, 2023, and clashes between violent, masked and armed protesters have been expanded with KFOR and, as a result, over 30 KFOR soldiers have been injured, 3 of them with firearms.

The Guxon Party condemns attacks on KFOR and wants quick recovery for wounded soldiers while simultaneously thanking KFOR for helping security bodies maintain order and secure environment for all citizens of the country.

The Guxon Party fully supports the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in democratic efforts for local governance, for order, order and law. The Guxon Party strongly supports the position of institutions that municipal mayors should work from official municipal objects and, of course, in any official and government building should wave Kosovo state flag.

The Guxon Party strongly condemns attacks on the Kosovo Police and strongly supports the work of the Kosovo Police in carrying out constitutional tasks, expressing the highest appreciation for its members' professional performance in implementing the laws of the Republic of Kosovo and respecting human rights and freedoms.

Similarly, the Guxon Party supports genuine and continued communication, co-ordination and close co-operation of all institutions of the Republic of Kosovo with missions and international partners, especially with the United States of America, with which the partnership and brotherly co-operation, the Republic of Kosovo has transferred and built its way towards freedom, independence, democracy and development as an independent, sovereign and unique state.

We condemn the attacks of violent protesters on journalists who are carrying out the task with dignity and professionalism, which merit our deepest gratitude.

We thank all Kosovo citizens for the maturity and tranquillity, for supporting our institutions, as well as for respecting the order and laws of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Guxo Party as the political subject, but also with the side of its representatives in Government, will commit to overcoming this situation in the north of the country, on the basis of the law, and in close co-operation with our strategic allies, the US and countries of Western democracies.

The sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo is non-negotiable. Strengthening the democratic institutions of the country, extending rule of law throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo serves all its citizens indiscriminately.
