These claims of the Russian ministry have failed to be independently confirmed.
On May 11th, Britain became the first state to say it has begun to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles that will allow Kiev to carry out attacks on Russian troops and the state of supply depots located behind the throne's lines as Kiev prepares for a major counteroffensive.
British Defence Minister Ben Wallace said these types of missiles would be used within Ukrainian territory, hinting that it has received guarantees from Kiev that they will not be used for targets within Russia's internationally accepted borders.
The Russian ministry said the missiles hit a plant that produces polymer and a meat processing plant. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the attacks occurred 12 May.
“Raquet Storm Shadow, which Kiev received from Britain, are used for the attack, contrary to London's statements that these weapons will not be used to civilian targets”, the Russian ministry said.
The statement also said that Russia has crashed two Ukrainian fighter jets of Su-24 and MiH-29 species that had conducted missile attacks.
Similarly, Russia's Defence Ministry claimed Russian forces have taken over another district in the eastern town of Bahmut, which Moscow has been trying to take control of for more than ten months. / REL
