Kosovo spends around 600m euros annually on fuel

Avni Sfishta, energy expert in the GIZ organisation, has said that Kosovo will manage by 2050 to make climate banking as provided with the Kosovo National Energy and Climate Plan. I believe and am convinced that it can be achieved because there are some elements that go in favour of [...]
I believe and am convinced that it can be achieved because there are some elements that go in favour of the country. We have the largest energy consumption from the building sector. Like. to produce 1,000 euros of the country's GDP, we spend 460 euros on energy. While to produce 1,000 euros in EU countries, 110-150 euros of energy is spent” ) Sfisha has said on the “Calxo Pernime” show.
He has added that this huge margin shows how much Kosovo has potential to save energy and at the same time reduce consumption.
“In the building sector, if we have a good energy savings program that means building isolation, reduce energy consumption to a minimum, then add renewable energy resources to the building, etc. ” he said further.
In the Kosovo National Energy and Climate Plan, measures are envisioned for the construction code, the minimum criteria for energy performance, standards to meet new buildings that are subject to the construction phase.
“It's recommended that the measure is also required, placing energy certificate in buildings. We are expecting that during this year we will build the system, we are almost at the conclusion of the platform, which processes the issue of certificates, with which a new standard begins that buildings must meet to reduce energy use” he says further.
The cost of energy in the transport sector, according to Sfishta, in Kosovo is more than 600m euros.
The fuel price goes in here. And Kosovo is required to subsidise electric squirrels, install equipment for the filling of electric squirrels. In the energy sector, if we count how much we spend at the country level, it's around 400-500m euros --” -- Sfisha said.
