According to the judgment Peja has provided in Fokus, after a domestic dispute, he had exerted physical violence against his wife by punching her with fists and wood, which caused her bodily injury.

The Constitutional Court in Pec had pronounced “Judicial Review”, with which Gashi is aware that he committed harmful and dangerous acts, which constitutes a criminal offence for which if he repeats again, the court will impose the worst criminal sanctions.
The excuse for easing the sentence had come after the former imam-Gashi had pleaded guilty, manifesting regret over what happened to him.
“In the initial review of the defendant -- after the initial reading of the indictment -- has been announced with the right and procedural obligations, and the consequences of accession, respectively, no plea. Drillo Gashi has pleaded guilty and manifested regret over what happened. This admission of guilt, the judge after having previously received the consent from the state and the injured minister, convinced that the defendant's confession has done as the law can see without being influenced by anyone, and by no means has it been accepted by”, the verdict said.
Also, according to the court, the relief measure has been taken because the defendant Gashi has agreed with his wife (injured) and now I have good reports, such as the aspect of the serious economic situation, “is the only host of the five-members” family.
Otherwise, four years earlier the Islamic Community of Kosovo had dismissed Drilon Gashi from working as the imam of Nur mosque in Vitomerica in Pec. Among the reasons were language contradictions that do not match Islam.
