Former Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has said negotiating the association statute that happens this Tuesday in Brussels is the act of a politician who steps on everything to preserve power.
So has Hoti pointed out in a Facebook text, accusing the current government at the helm of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, that the same once violently opposed Asociation.
According to him, if today's talks in Brussels regarding association were part of the “final, legally binding agreement, for mutual recognition and normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia”, perhaps it would have understood and reasoned on the current government.
However, without any promise of mutual recognition, despite the violence the current head of government has used to oppose Association, negotiating the Association statute that takes place in Brussels today is the act of a politician who steps on everything to preserve power”, he wrote.
Despite that, the Democratic League of Kosovo deputy doubts that something better could be achieved than what is envisioned in the 2015 agreement, which reportedly says the Association Act must receive reconciliation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo before it is approved by the Government.
