AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj has reacted after Infrastructure Minister Libun Aliu's statement that Dukagjini will have no highway but only expansion of the road.
Haradinaj has said the Dukagjin highway will take place once the current power goes out.
Former Prime Minister Haradinaj has said this project had not been launched because his mandate was interrupted, while the government Kurti had blocked all projects, even existing ones.
The Dukagjin's “Autostrada was not built because the government that I led was cut in the middle, while the Vetevendosje government, not only did it not open new infrastructure projects, but it blocked existing”, Haradinaj said.
Full response:
The Dukagjin Highway will be built once you leave power
When the Dukagjini Highway project was set to take effect as a strategic investment, since it would link nearly a third of Kosovo's territory to the rest, a vicious Vetevendosje campaign against me had been launched, with the argument that money should not be spent on asphalt.
The Dukagjin highway was not built because the government that I led was interrupted in the middle, and the government of Vetevendosje, not only did it not open new infrastructure projects, but it also blocked existing ones.
Today, there are poor and dark, not only the route to Mitrovica, for Gjilan, for Peja, for Gjakova, but other infrastructure projects, bringing capital investments down to ridiculous quotas.
If this were to be done in order to increase the welfare of the people, in these two years of a global economic crisis, there would also be a door, but unfortunately that did not happen either.
Today, Kosovo has the lowest salary average in the region, the lowest pensions, the lowest minimum wage on the continent, while property tax has increased two triple, energy has increased at least twice and not to talk about rising prices of elemental items, or inflation, which has been the highest in these 20 years.
If that were not enough, the new government officials have rushed into the city's own means and want to take them too! Or they have faces and say there will be forgetrs and expansions and yet they connect to the Dukagjin Highway and they say it will not be built.
And I have a message for them. Yes, the Dukagjin highway will be built as soon as you leave power. I hope so fast!
