Hamza: The Ibër Bridge open as soon as possible, 24 years old is Europe's worst symbol

Kosovo's government has backed the decision by North Mitrovica's Municipal Assembly ambists to reopen the Ibër Bridge. Lajcak has said that for such a thing it is not the time, while KFOR has declared that reopening the Ibër Bridge should be resolved through political dialogue. For opening the bridge that [...]
With the Asambliste proposal from the Vetevendosje Movement ranks Aida Ferati-Doli on Friday, Mitrovica's Municipal Assembly has made a decision to open bridges separating the town of Mitrovica in two parts.
This decision has been supported by South Mitrovica Mayor Bedri Hamza, who said this is a controversial issue.
Hamza in an answer to Gazeta Express said the free movement of citizens is guaranteed with Constitution and other laws in force. He added that local and international factors should operate “for the bridge to be opened.
The first of South Mitrovica said that the 23-24-year-old <x0-24-year Ibër Bridge is one of the symbols and objects that represents the greatest brutality not only in Kosovo but also in Europe”.
This is a constitutionally regulated issue and the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo is guaranteed the free movement of all citizens throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and with all other positive laws in force. The bridge issue is delayed, delayed, and affected the free movement of citizens in both parts of the city and the northern part and the southern part. It's a bad image for all those responsible for the case. Normally my attitude is that this should not be opened, but it had to be opened much earlier. And all responsible factors and local and international reliefs, including international factor and KFOR, must act to make the bridge open, free, not only for pedestrians but also for vehicles and for everything it is dedicated. Otherwise, 23-24 years this is one of the symbols and the objects that actually present the greatest brutality not only in Kosovo but also throughout Europe”, Hamza told Express.
In this decision, the Express, which has been trying to get answers from the new North Mitrovica chairman, Erden Attic, has not responded to editorial calls.
Reactions for the decision to open Ibër Bridge
The North Mitrovica assisters' decision has backed the Government of Kosovo, saying it is the right and right decision.
Any obstacle to freedom of movement violates this fundamental right. Therefore, even the decision to remove such obstacles is the right and proper action”, the Government has said of RTK.
But for the reopening of the bridge, European emissary Miroslav Lajcak says it is not time.
We're still having to face this day. As we speak, there has been a request in Mitrovica that the bridge [of Ibër] be opened. The atmosphere, obviously, is not to have such a thing happening”, Lajcak said, as he said both sides should respect each other's red lines.
Meanwhile, KFOR's mission has stated that the reopening of the Ibër Bridge should be resolved through political dialogue.
Reopening the bridge is an issue that needs to be resolved through political dialogue. Mission NATO, KFOR, continues to monitor local developments and stays fully focused on the daily implementation of its mandate, based on the 1999 Security Council Resolution 1244, to ensure a safe environment and free movement for all communities in Kosovo”, KFOR has said by RTV Dukagjin.
On the other hand, “Serbian List” has warned unrest if something like that happens. Petar Petkovic has named it “approval” of Prime Minister Albin Kurti on the eve of the May 2nd meeting in Brussels. Today it has been reported that the decision by the Municipal Assembly of northern Mitrovica has been handed over to the Ministry of Management of Local Power.
