The number of non-active businesses is frightening. By the beginning of the year and so far there are over 2,000 businesses that have closed.
Ten businesses have been activated only yesterday. Businesses as a major problem have a shortage of workers, the reason for large migration of young people, another lack of fiscal policies, has caused many businesses to shut down activity, these are some of the causes, discussed by economic connoisseurs.
While officials from the Government and dictatorships dealing with economic development policies, in addition to figures of budget growth and modest social assistance, so far have not come up with analysis of the causes and reasons for business closures.
Economics officials estimate that recent business closure is disturbing.
Arian Zeka, chairman of the American Economic Ode, says businesses in the absence of fiscal policies, especially during the pandemic, are very difficult to survive.
However, what can be said is that in the three-year period there are disturbing shut-downs of businesses, and this may also be linked to limiting economic activity after the outbreak of COVID19 pandemic, but also to the contraction of purchasing power in general as a result of the overall cost of living.
For businesses in specific sectors that have voiced concerns recently about human power, even lack of labor power and the tendency to leave the country of citizens have been able to affect the difficulty of operating these businesses.
Even so, the Kosovo market is relatively small for micro businesses and small businesses, which in the absence of adequate fiscal policies have difficulty surviving. However, it will take a more detailed analysis of the reasons which have led to the de-activation of over 2000 businesses in 2023), Zeka told Index Online.
While, Safet Gerjali of economic issues, says the greatest concern is the distance of power and a lack of real communication between the public and private sectors.
Only more problems in the administration are addressed in this direction than in the private sector.
The very fact that we have budget contractions and capital investments, like in 2022, is unfortunately continuing and in 2023. We have warned that there will be negative effects, and the result of this distance and lack of capital investments is the closure and extinction of businesses.
Powermen in Kosovo must be affected in conscience, they need to understand that as long as they pride themselves on the record budget for 2023 worth 3 billion and 200m euros, on the other hand they drive business. While the main source of raising budget revenues is business.
If it continues this way, truly Kosovo will not only face economic problems but also social problems. The effects of this negative situation will also be reflected in the future”, Gerjaliu told IndexOnline.
According to the ATK list from 2009 to today, 88 thousand and 346 non-active businesses are registered
