News may get worse because the province is a “qush”, said “manager Alberta Wildlife Information”, Christie Tucker, writes Anadolu, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
“We expect very warm weather and extremely strong winds, especially in the northern half of province”, Tucker said at a press conference.
“This is not good for the fire activity trying to cause very active fires and our people on the ground will have to be very careful about their safety and certainly the safety of communities they are protecting”, he added.
About 80 firefighters are scheduled to arrive today from Ontario and Quebec to help combat fires, 19 of which are out of control.
The federal government said it is willing to offer support if required.
“) Although we have not received a request for federal assistance from the Alberta Government, we are willing to support whether federal assistance or resources is required”, Security Minister Bill Blair's office said in a statement to Global News.
So far there have been no reports of victims.
