The seventh anniversary of the Constitutional Court's decision on the Decani Monastery has reminded the QUINT states on Saturday.
Even on this very day, QUINT reiterated call for Government to urgently implement monastery land registration
Even this time around, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the US and the EU have stressed that any delay in implementing the decision implies an obstacle to Kosovo's membership process in the Council of Europe.
“We are united in supporting Kosovo's democratic and European future. The implementation of the law's rule and respect for the independence of the judiciary are obligations for all democraticly elected governments and preconditions needed for Kosovo's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions, including further progress in Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe. Further delay is only an obstacle to this” progress.
Even for the director of the Institute “Cultique”, Visar Ymer such a binding comes for the first time from QUINT, and according to him, it is the last time the government respects the Constitutional decisions.
This is the first time I know that this connection between the road to the Council of Europe and this decision has been expected for me to think... For many of the things that we've pushed with the claim that they will change, we've seen that they don't change unless they get worse, so we have both the case of Association and the dialogue as a whole and even this decision”, Umer said about RTV Dukagjin.
On the other hand, international relations connoisseur Shqiprim Pula, is considering this condition unfair to Kosovo.
The “would be the next injustice to the state of Kosovo and its citizens if it were to be dedicated, membership in these organisations, through demands that Serbia makes inconsistently, either for the establishment of association or for the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church, therefore the international factor should not accept this as condition, while not preventing Kosovo's membership in this organisation and then in other international bodies”, Pula has said.

On May 20, 2016, Kosovo's Constitutional Court has ruled in favour of the Decani Monastery, but it has not been implemented, though the Constitutional Court's decisions are final and binding on all sides.
