On May 8, 2013, when KED began operations in Kosovo, it was necessary that a complete energy transformation, along with professional capacities, needed a balance of labor force that, in the face of this challenge, should be part of that goal.
Such an electromagnetic transformation was not easy. Many factors point to the state of the electromagnetic network at the time.
Today, when KED is filling a decade of operation in Kosovo, it can proudly be said that the vital need for the sustainability of the distribution network has been achieved in large measure.
Over ten years, KEDS has managed to advance to a much higher stage distribution and electricity supply.
KEDS, with the mission clear ahead of itself, launched investments to illuminate every corner of Kosovo. Investments that affected every home, every business, every family, every citizen of the Republic of Kosovo.
KEDS, for 10 years, managed to invest over 216m euros and through them realise over 2300 projects. These investments affected every port of society, each citizen of Kosovo.
As soon as operations began, the KED also began extending the underground network. Today, most city centers do not have electric poles.
The operation of the Middle Tension network has been digitised completely and today that network is managed by a single room.
All consumers' reading and billing have been digitized. Nearly 600 thousand digital digits have been established, too.
KEDS for 10 years has managed to extend nearly 18.5 million feet of cables and deploy over 142,000 new power poles. In a small electromagnetic system like Kosovo, these changes for such a short period are huge.
As the company operates at the highest quality stages, it also shows ISO Standard certificates in three categories: Job security, Quality Management and Environment.
Along with these investments, initially found it necessary to invest in human resources. For ten years, KED became the gate of youth education in energy and their employment. As of 2013, KEDS Academy was established, in which some 600 high school students and college students and faculty performed energy programs. Today, over 60 percent of this number are part of the KED staff.
KEDS, over the past ten years, has committed itself to helping green energy producers and adopt the distribution network that fits these green energy trends.
In the new decade, KEDS will continue to focus on ensuring a trustworthy and qualitative universal service that corresponds to the newest technological standards.
