Over 1,300 workers of the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) who filed charges in 2012 over the payment of weekends for mobile workers, the Constitutional Court on Friday has ordered the completion of 3.3 million financial means by KEK for the transfer of money to workers who have earned the right.
The new KEK Union chairman Nexhat Llumnica has welcomed this judicial decision, which confirmed for The CKP has ordered the completion of financial means by KEK.
“We announce all employees who filed lawsuits in 2012 concerning the payment of weekends for the working shifts, that the Constitutional Court has ordered the completion of tools by the KEK and will be transferred to workers who have earned the right”, he says.
The Teve1 media reported months ago that the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) is failing to implement a Constitutional Court decision now and over five months to pay 3.3m euros to over 1,300 employees.
KEK workers expect to receive an average of 3 thousand euros each for the work done during weekend days, which were not previously paid.
The case has received final legal epilogue at the end of September 2022, given a Constitutional Court decision. This amount of 3.3m euros of KEK's money is forced to divide the workers in compensation for working days during weekends, for the period 2011 to 2018.
