After confirming support for Erdogan, Ogan shows four priorities to be addressed urgently

The candidate, who emerged third in Turkey's presidential elections, Sinan Ogan, on Monday has said he will provide support to top candidate Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ahead of the planned runoff vote. According to foreign media, Ogan, who received 5.17% of the vote in the first round of presidential elections that took place on May 14th, said at a press conference in Ankara that he would support Erdogan, rather than his rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu, in the presidential runoff scheduled for May 28th.

Erdogan received 49.52% of the vote in the first round, giving him a five-point advantage over Kilicdaroglu.

I think we will support the AKP candidate and invite voters who voted for us in the first round to vote for Mr. Erdogan”, Ogan has said.

The decision was taken “following discussions and because we believe it is the right thing for our country and our people”, he added.

Ogan had conditioned each of the candidates' support with rigid refugee policies and some Kurdish groups he perceives as terrorists.

The National Alliance has failed to convince us”, he has said further, speaking of Turkey's main opposition group, led by Kilicdaroglu.

Ogan confirmed that Turkey was in a <x0-cysts critical” and set four priorities he said should be addressed urgently.

The first is the issue of refugees and migrants in Turkey, he said.

Second, “emergency national security threat” following recent earthquakes.

Third, economic problems “caused by internal and external dynamics that have caused deep public problems”.

And fourth, the fight against terrorism in Turkey, for which he said it needs “to be addressed on all fronts, including financial one”.

Responding to reports Ogan had backed Erdogan, Kilicdaroglu said in a Twitter post Monday that “is clear who sided with those who sell this beautiful country”.
