Banned Serb Released at Borders, Police Says He Stole Money, Petkovqi Names Property Confrontation

Serbia's chief negotiator in dialogue with Kosovo, Petar Petkov, has tried to propagand the ban on a Serb at the Jarinje border crossing. Police said they have detained him and then released a 72-year-old from Belgrade for money theft, while Petkov said police arrested him with a threat to a [...]

Police said they have detained him and then released a 72-year-old from Belgrade for money theft, while Petkovic said police arrested him with a threat to a property dispute in Pec.

Petkov reacted about 1500 on the occasion, writing that he was going to Pec for a hearing about resolving a property dispute.

“Despite the fact that the BB has operated the spinal cord and suffers from high blood pressure, because of the actions of the Kosovo Police has not been able to take even a bag of drugs”, Petkovic said, saying he hired a team of lawyers for his defense.

Petkovic also said that he has informed European Union envoy of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Miroslav Lajcak about this.

Kosovo Police Deputy Commander for the Northern Region Veton Elshani has told the Serbian medium, Kossev, that the 72-year-old Serb has been detained in Jarinje and that the court's decision has transferred to Drenas due to charges of embezzlement of property, allegedly a small amount of money.

The “was a small issue, but they couldn't find it, so it went on a stop list”, Elshani said.

The 72-year-old was questioned in Drenas just about the charges of embezzlement of property, after which he was released.

Petkovic, meanwhile, spoke again, saying the Serb was released “following a Belgrade political and diplomatic action”.

“Would someone apologize to him and his family for the stress they experienced and will be responsible for it?”, Petkovic asked.
