Zelensky has always claimed that the war in Ukraine must end with the release of Crime. Consequently, this has caused harsh rhetoric by Moscow, recently by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who warned that Moscow would use “absolutely any weapons” if Ukraine tried to regain the peninsula.
Crime is very important at the strategic level. It is a base for the Russian Black Sea fleet and offers critical access to trade through ports such as Sevastopol. But as far as the conflict is concerned, Putin and his allies have considered the Crimea a vital part of the nation. The loss of the region would be humiliating and costly to the regime. For years, Ukraine's idea of regaining Crime has emerged more than distant. But Kiev's military successes at the end of 2022 have changed that perception. Ukraine's plans have begun.
Numerous explosions rocked several countries across all Russia's annexed crime last morning, Russian and Ukrainian media reported, with Russian social media finding that air defence systems backed the attacks. Telegram, a channel linked to Russian law enforcement agencies, reported that Ukraine had sent a number of drones to the Crimean Peninsula and that Russian air defence brought down at least one over the port of Sevastopol. According to the channel's first information, there were no casualties.
According to Ukrainian surveillance channels, the blasts occurred in Sevastopol and Saki, where Russia has an air base, as well as several other locations on the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014. Reuters could not independently verify the reports. Attacks against targets held by Russia have intensified over the past two weeks, especially in Crime. Ukraine, though failing to confirm any role in the attacks, says destroying the infrastructure is preparation for a planned land attack.

So with the launch of the attacks, the paper was confirmed a few weeks ago that anyone who gets, or keeps, the Crimean takes everything. In Washington it seems they have decided, the outcome of the war will be decided by summer. If Ukraine's planned spring counteroffensive will succeed, Russia will eventually be defeated. But in view of the increasing scepticism of European and American public opinion regarding the enormous costs of conflict, part of Russian territorial conquests will have to be accepted. However, the true innovation of this scenario is the strategic goal of a focus-responsion of Crime.
Ukraine's Goals
Aiming for the crime taking means planning a complex and bloody attack on Russian defence, thanks to the mobilization of three hundred thousand men. To do that, Ukrainians need, as Nuland explains, to strike back on Russian logistics and warehouses in Crime. Success with preventing attacks on Crime's bases will allow the launch of an operation that will use western tanks and 60,000 Ukrainian soldiers trained by NATO. According to Ukrainian Defence Minister Olexei Reznikov, Ukraine has already received 18 subx0 tanks Leopard 2” from Germany, 3 from Portugal and 6 from Spain. Added supplies to British Challenger 2.
Panic in Zaporzya
Also, Russia has sparked alarm sirens as it evacuates a town near the controversial nuclear power plant Zaporizija, a Ukrainian official said. Russia has told people to leave 18 settlements in the Zaporizija region, including Enerhodar near the plant, ahead of an expected offensive from Kiev. Ukrainian Mayor Melitopol Ivan Fedov said there was a five-hour wait after thousands of cars were left.
