Up to 3 thousand euros in fines against antismoking offenders are halved if paid on time

Up to 3 thousand euros appreciate fines against those who violate the Tobacco Control Law, which prohibits smoking in closed environments, has thus stated in an interview the executive director of the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), Flamur Kadriu. He said that only during the months [...]
He said that in recent months alone, close to 400 fines of different value from over 3,500 inspections have been pronounced.
Kadriu said that in addition to the very important fine on the matter, there is also the awareness of citizens that smoking should not be taken in closed areas.
Depending on current laws, fines amount to different values, for the tobacco law the values amount to up to 3 thousand euros for scythes that repeat continued violations, under the law on opposition, are much defined by these fines. We also try to have awareness, which is especially important to say about the tobacco Law, where I take the opportunity to give a push that awareness means a lot. We no longer wish we fine business knowing that we are at a time where family economies, businesses are encountered in expensive prices with different difficulties, but awareness is the pre-”, he said.
Kadriu stressed that over two months in the continuation of control of the Tobacco Law, 400 different fines have been pronounced, according to him, if the payment is carried out by the set term, they are halved.
I can say that somewhere during this period less than two months since we're in the wake of controlling the tobacco law we've pronounced somewhere near 400 different fines, which means by different values, some 3,500 inspections have been achieved and continue to be in control until we get to the satisfaction of both business and citizen awareness that tobacco has to stop, drinking in closed spaces. Paying on the basis of the Law on Counter-Affliction if they are realised within the set deadline they are halved, we expect to have a final report on how many fines have been paid”, he said.
The AUV director for the safety of products in the country has stated that they are not satisfied with 100 percent of the standards they are reaching, but that, according to him, annually, the plans for checkups for reaching the highest level of food safety are revised.
He said they are satisfied with hygiene, thanks to the improvement in awareness of the various businesses that deal with marketing products.
We can never say that we should be satisfied with 100 percent of the standards we are reaching, so even every year the official controls plans for reaching the highest level of food safety are revised. This is not only in Kosovo this is everywhere, it is an international principle that even very developed countries advance with programme plans. We have a satisfactory hygiene standard, thanks to improved awareness of various businesses, who deal with the trade in products”, he said.
Kadriu said this part is satisfactory even thanks to the aid the Ministry of Agriculture is offering to businesses with grants and subsidies.
We continue to draw up plans based on risk that those businesses we have classified as more dangerous to have more frequent control on the part of the inspection, while businesses that have managed to get you to have risk management systems set up in their companies to control less frequently. It is satisfying, thanks to what the Ministry of Agriculture is helping businesses with both grants and pre-resistance subsidies, so that businesses can also offer financial opportunities to implement food standards”, he said. /EO
