Four illegal Albanian immigrants were imprisoned after English police discovered their cannabis farm.
Criminals had turned the red brick structure, which was built in the 1700s, into a cannabis factory, capable of producing quantities, while during the process they caused considerable damage.
Details were given at the Court in Neucstle that the building had 200 rooms, which were illegally adapted to a highly professional and sophisticated <x0-structural”.
The cannabis farm had three - story cultivation areas and special residences for its caregivers. 3265 plants were seized in April last year.
The four Albanians, who had traveled illegally to Great Britain, were caught in the building.
When they appeared before the court, the troops heard that they had traveled to Britain in hopes of finding employment.
Albri Deraj, 22, Ilir Cela, 34, Mario Qosja, 37, and Aureel Barperje, 41, all without a fixed address, all admitted to producing cannabis. In February, they were imprisoned for 28 months each.
Prosecutors agreed that the four, who had no criminal precedents, were gardeners and acted under instructions from others. According to British media, they will be deported after serving a prison sentence.
