PDK Deputy Chairman Vlora Citaku has said Kosovo's sovereignty was violated on April 23rd, the day elections were held in four northern municipalities.
Citaku said even on election day sovereignty was violated, as the election process was held, not in regular objects, but in containers.
I believe that each of us has seen the situation in the north with concern and not only on election day but since last year's summer. There has never been less sovereignty and the presence of Kosovo institutions I am talking about police, customs and courts. Everything that has been built for years has been ruined for a few days, holding elections has been inevitable”.
“Foundation of institutions will be a huge challenge even after the election outcome, but the legal conditions have been met and there are legal and constitutional deadlines for the institution's constitutional establishment and it is the duty of the Government of Kosovo to establish these institutions. Unfortunately on election day we have seen a degradation because neither the election process has been kept in regular objects, but through containers even that day has the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo and its institutions” been violated, Citaku said in Klan Kosova.
Among other things, Citaku said the country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, is guilty of the situation created in the north.
The situation in the north did not fall from the sky, we unlike Prime Minister Kurti do not look at each other, but we are together to extend sovereignty and we have left alone, we have competed with him in this election. The main blamer is Belgrade, but unfortunately has been helped by Prime Minister Kurti's irresponsible and uncoordinated behaviour last summer”, Citaku said.
