“This action is reckless, irresponsible and certainly uncertain”, he told reporters in Japan after the meeting of the seven most industrialized states group (G7).

Sudan has been facing fierce fighting between rival forces for several days.

Earlier it was reported that European Union Ambassador to Sudan Aida O'Hara has been attacked at his home in the capital of Cartum.

Close to 185 people have been killed, and more than 1,800 have been injured during three days of fighting in Sudan, the United Nations has said. The town of Cartum has faced air strikes and fierce fighting.

Both the army and the paramilitary group called the Fast Support Forces have claimed to have control of key locations in Cartum, where citizens are sheltered after the explosions.

Ambassador O'Hara is not seriously injured, Ireland's Foreign Minister Michael Martin has confirmed. He has described the attack as a serious <x0-second violation of obligations to protect diplomats.

Irish top diplomat has said the ambassador is a prominent Irish and European <x0ndiplomat serving for the EU under the most difficult circumstances”.

Meanwhile, US State Department spokesman John Kirby has stated that there are currently no plans to evacuate American personnel from Sudan, despite security concerns and airport closures in Cartum. But he has urged all Americans to address the “situation with the greatest seriousness”.

The conflict has forced many civilians to take refuge in their homes, after fear that the prolonged conflict could lead the state into deeper crisis.

Besides fighting at the main airport in Cartum, hospitals have also been bombed. The army has also reportedly attacked several bases of the Fast Support Force.

Wars are under way between army units, which are loyal to the de facto leader, General Andel Fattah al-Buhan, and Fast Support Forces, the notorious paramilitary group led by Sundan's deputy leader, Mohammed Hamdan Dazalo, also known as Hemedti.

Hemdit declared on April 17th that the international community should intervene and named Burhani as the radical “lamatic that is bombarding civilians from air”. Burhan has declared he is willing to negotiate.

Both sides have respected a brief ceasefire Sunday that has allowed the wounded to be evacuated.
