The director of the American Chamber of Economics, Arian Zeka, said that the recently reached agreement in Ohrid, between Kosovo and Serbia, will improve the exchange of goods and services.

Showing the reasons why OECH has decided to support this agreement, Zeka said that in this way, Kosovo could become part of the initiative for establishing the common regional market.

The “is precisely promotion and exchange of goods and services, which is extremely important within the Western Balkans. It is a prerequisite for the Euro-Atlantic integration of all states. At the same time, we've recalled one more thing. Since, in the last agreement in Ohrid, the parties have pledged to take on the obligation to implement past agreements, then of course it also means the September 4th 2020 agreement signed in Washington. And under this agreement, it is envisioned for Kosovo to become part of the initiative to create the joint regional market”, Zeka said.

Even, Zeka estimated that it is now time for Kosovo to consider becoming part of the Open Balkans, reports Teve1.info.

So, in a way, the Government of Kosovo, giving its pledge to implement all agreements, has agreed to become part of the Open Balkans. I believe it is time for Government to start considering taking part in this initiative, which enables free circulation of goods, free flow of services and free circulation of people and free capital circulation”, Zeka stressed on Tvjet1.

Zeka further indicated that OECH, today has asked the Government of Kosovo and Serbia to fulfil their pledges from the Washington agreement, as he said, there may be investments in the road and railway infrastructure.
