Turkey on Sunday welcomed an agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia on implementation of an EU-backed agreement on normalising relations.
“We welcome that in the continuation of the agreement on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels on February 27th, 2023, within the European Union's leadership, the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia agreed to implement the above-mentioned annex on March 18th 2023 in Ohrid”, it is said in a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
The ministry expressed its hope that the parties “will fully respect the provisions of the agreement in question and achieve concrete results in the next period”.
Our country has contributed to the process, especially in the issue of electricity distribution. Our president has recently had separate meetings with Serbian President Vuciq and Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti. Like Turkey, we will continue to support all initiatives aimed at normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia”, the report said.
