The Special Prosecutor's Investigation into Mr. Arben Ahmetaj, the longest-lived politician in Prime Minister Edi Rama's cabinets since 2013, has intensified significantly in recent weeks. Nearly 15 days ago, investigators from the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) exercised raids on former Mr Ahmetaj's wife's residences, as well as a villa of his co-existence. The former deputy prime minister, has filed complaints at the Special Appeals Gykat, claiming that the decision to control the apartment in Hamallaj has been taken in violation of the law, and has also been carried out in violation of procedures.
That's exactly what this mansion has already been placed under the preventative sequestro. Several published documents have speculated that the villa was commissioned by Klodian Zozo in search of the intensaries' case. But Mr Ahmetaj has declared that his co-existence has bought him from another person, and that the payment has been made on the bank road.

In addition to the villa in Hamallaj, another villa on the coast in the Palace area has been placed under the sequestro. Although it turns out to be owned by Ahmetaj's former wife's wife, the prosecution doubts that, in fact, the latter is the real owner.
The SPAK is investigating Mr Ahmetaj in allegations of at least 4 criminal acts, due to not declaring or hiding the false declaration of assets, the passive corruption of senior officials, money laundering and abuse of office. The latter relates to investigations in the case of intensives, for which the former deputy prime minister has insisted he is not involved in any way or circumstances.
