EU High Representative Josep Borrell's spokesman, has said Belgrade and Pristina are contracted to implement the Ohrid and Anex Agreement, and has made it clear that if they do not, then they will abandon the path towards the European Union.
Stano has recalled that Borrell has declared that it will use the two sides to perform their work” in implementing the Agreement on the road to normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, including the implementation annex.
The EC spokesman underlined that <x0thm will be in danger of international reputation and trust in Kosovo and Serbia, so they should be shown as reliable partners for the EU and therefore need to implement what they have promised”.
He stressed that the provisions of the agreement and annexes will be placed in chapter 35 of the EU-Serbia negotiations for membership and the EU Special Group programme for normalisation with Kosovo.
“That means”, he indicated, “that both sides would be contracted to implement those provisions if they want to advance towards the EU and that failure would mean abandoning the road to the European Union”.
Stano noted that Borrell briefed EU leaders on the talks in Ohrid last week and said Kosovo and Serbia should now put into practice what an agreement has reached.
