He said that these countries should give answers to this question, but added he hopes that in the near future, the five EU will change its stance on Kosovo.
Well, first, the issue of non-recognition by five European Union countries should be directed to them. We hope all European Union countries recognise Kosovo in the near future. It is important that Kosovo, which is part of the European family, be recognised by the rest of the European family”.
Escobar also said it is important that neighbours in the Western Balkans know each other.
And I believe that one of the things that should happen in the region is that all Western Balkan countries know each other and have peaceful and productive relations”.
Meanwhile, Escobar also gave a comment on the issue of not signing the agreement reached in Ohrid.
And in terms of signing, I want to clarify: this is a legally binding obligation Serbia has been hired for, just as Kosovo has. Messages about signing are really focusing on something that doesn't have a material impact on the fact that we have an agreement. It's an agreement and we're treating it as such and both sides are seriously committed to it and the European Union has confirmed it was an agreement in their eyes, as well as both leaders. So it's a deal. And the focus on signing is really unnecessary, because we're there; it's an agreement. And we'll move on with this”.
