Minister Haxhiu exposed by IKD: No murder occurred because the victim was a woman

During today in the Kosovo Assembly, the term childicide has been due to the clash between PDK deputy Ganimete Musliu, Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu and VV deputy Arjeta Feyza. All this started when, the VV's Fyza said that there is childicide in Kosovo, which prevented Musliu from PDK and [...]
All this started when, the VV's Fyza said that there are childicides in Kosovo, which prevented the PDK's Musliu, who reacted to it, saying who is convening to call Kosovo society childicides.
There are various discussions on this line, but the tendency to relativise this issue is because in Kosovo we have 66 women killed and say they don't get killed just because they're women. This is unacceptable. I think it's very important that we engage to have as much justice as possible. I don't think there's childicides and women's deaths because they're women”, Fyza said.
Musliu stressed that there is no childicide in Kosovo but there is violence against women, there are murders against women, but also men.
“Please whom am I conditioning for Kosovo society to be considered a childicide society. There are women and men killed, but we dare not call it childicide in parliament. We need to be careful because they write reports of what is said in the assembly. There is no childicide in Kosovo, there is violence against women. Be careful because the public word weighs”.
And this Musliu's statement reacted to the Haxhiu ministry, which said there are childicides in Kosovo and its denial encourages criminals.
I wouldn't want an MP with such access to this speech from the House. In fact, violent and potential criminals when they hear you say that, they are certainly encouraged by your word. Just because they're women. Men consider that they have the right to do everything with the body and the life of women. I invite you to join in our commitment against domestic violence and childicide because yes, in Kosovo there are childicide”, Haxhiu has said.
However, Gzim Shala from the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD) has considered that domestic violence and gender-based violence is state emergency and the list of factors is over.
“Vindence in the family and gender-based violence is state emergency, a phenomenon that has not been addressed enough by institutions, despite efforts. Unfortunately, so far, The IKD has found several cases of women and girls being killed because of the non-action of institutions that had not taken necessary measures, despite having been informed of the risk they were facing”, Shala said.
On the other hand, various occasions point to various situations that pierce to such occasions. As an example, the lack of economic independence and economic violence against women is one of the factors that impress men against women, and women were reluctant to report cases of domestic violence. The list of other factors in this direction is”, Shala said.
Shala has shown that she's never encountered a woman's murder in any case since she's a woman. Because we can't know if there's ever been a case, so far, The IKD has never encountered a case when someone was convicted of murder and the motive for killing was just the fact that the victim was a woman. This, despite the fact that the number of murdered women is too high”, has added further.
He has even asked the executive and the legislature for detailed knowledge of the situation in combating this phenomenon.
“On the other hand, official data does not speak of minimal similarities between Kosovo and Afghanistan and Iraq. However, politics should not politicise such a sensitive issue and give unfounded assessments of the fact, as politicising this issue with at least contributes to combating domestic violence and the most basic gender violence. The detailed recognition of the situation is the prerequisite for effective combating this” phenomenon, Shala has said.
