The head of the Albanian state, after being briefed in detail on negotiations held with Serbia, led by the European Union and supported by the United States, welcomed leadership, caution and courage shown by Kurti and the Kosovo negotiating team to accept the European plan, as well as to sign and implement it.
Stopping the outcome of the Ohrid summit on March 18, 2023, Begaj praised that the public agreement and the commitment of the parties to implement the European plan to normalise relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia and the respective annex as an integral part of it is a more guarantee of peace, stability and the future of the countries in the European Union, Abcnews reports.
The Albanian president also voiced confidence that the pledge taken by the parties in Ohrid will be fully respected, meanwhile, appropriate mechanisms will be found to turn this public agreement into a binding and applicable agreement for the international parties.
