We have seen reports of Russia's announcement and will continue to monitor this” situation, the US Department of Defence said through a statement.
“We have seen no reason to change our strategic nuclear position, or any indication that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons. We continue to be committed to collective protection of the NATO coalition”, the US said.
On March 25th, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he has reached agreement to deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of close ally Belarus, which borders both Russia and Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials have said that by this agreement, Belarus has become Moscow's <x0 nuclear hostage”.
Russia has begun its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, using Belarus territory to send troops to Ukraine. Belarus, Russia's ally, denies it is a party at odds. / REL/
