The chairman of the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture, Nundman Jasharaj, has stated that they will not allow teaching testing. Jasharaj said it should not be humiliated by studies that teachers have done over the years and that have been constantly tested. While added, they agree to have more education inspectors.
It's not supposed to be in the MAST, nor is there any written test of teacher knowledge eventually, nor does it happen, nor will it ever happen. We'll never allow it because it's humiliating for the work, for studies these people have done in colleges and tested and tested dozens of times, but they're insisting with MASTI”, Jasharaj said.
I hope that even they have this idea to add to the number of professional inspectors who would visit from school, see how teachers work, see what the positive parts are, but also what the concessions are during the” teaching process, Jasharaj told EO.
Jasharaj has also experienced criticism because of working conditions. He says teachers still work on foam and soles.
He criticises political parties, for which he says that “when sitting on the government's armchair have no priority on education”.
Our “State except for that part of the law, because it's easy to write down the best ideas in the world, but parties, whatever they do now in election campaigns, say they have a priority in education and when they sit on the couch they don't seem to have it at all at all at”.
I've said several times, and I'm saying again, there can't be a battle, completely successful in the 21st century with tremendous technological advances when most schools, really work with foam and soles, with books that don't correspond to the curriculum, with a cure for teaching others, and often that curriculum doesn't match the circumstances of our time, Jasharaj told EO.
Meanwhile, Youth Qehaja of the Edgood Institute has told Online Economy that the Education Union has no reason to oppose the teachers' assessment.
He wants the SBASK not to take this as punishment, but as support.
I appreciate that the SBASK has no reason against the teacher's assessment, we have a legislation that envisions the evaluation of teachers at certain times. What the SBASK tried was in conflict, is against testing teachers and that it was never introduced by anyone. So our common debate of all and common commitment should be how to review the current performance assessment legislation, make it more creditable to bring us the results of reliable assessment and currency for any teacher, and not to be perceived as punishment, but rather as supporters for our teachers”, Qehaja told EO.
The education recogniser also said Kosovo has good laws, but according to him there is lack of accountability and responsibility for their implementation.
“Kosovo is not missing in bad laws, it is not missing in bad strategic documents, but Kosovo is lacking in accountability and responsibility for implementing these laws. Hence, individuals, institutions responsible for implementing these legislation must be called into responsibility for implementation and not implementing them”, Qehaja said.
