The accident has occurred around 14:25 today in the 26th mile of M1 Street, in the lane leading from the Hungarian capital, the MTI reports.
19 vehicles are on fire, and 26 people are injured, six with life - threatening injuries and seven with serious injuries.
Firefighters from several municipalities joined the Budapest forces and members of the emergency department at the scene, along with four rescue helicopters.
The accident is reported to be the dust storm on the highway at the time of the crash, which would have significantly reduced visibility.
