At this executive meeting, the decision to establish the International Business Public College (IBCM) headquarters in Mitrovica has been adopted as the institution of higher education.
The IBCM was originally established in 2010 as a registered international non-profit foundation led under the direction of the Dutch non-government SPARK organisation.
But now the IBCM will no longer serve as a foundation, since it will be a university since today.
Regarding this decision, Education Minister Arberie Nagavci has said this institution will function fairly, and that the college will provide English-language programmes.
“In co-ordination with the EU office, we've established a working group for financial findings. The IBC has been a jointBC project with the Kosovo government. During meetings, six options have been proposed, and the most feasible solution has been made to make the decision that this is the first public college funded by the Government of Kosovo”, Nagavci said.
The IBC was established in March 2010, with donations from the Swedish International Development Agency (SDA), Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch Ministry for Development Co-operation, the Department of the United Kingdom Government for International Development, the Swiss Confederata and the European Union Office in Kosovo.
