France's Ambassador to Serbia, Pierre Cochard, said today that France wants the enlargement process to begin as soon as possible, among other things, because it is a way to protect Europe collectively even better.
There is no contradiction between the EU reform process and the start of the enlargement process, Kostunica said, and added that everyone knows there has been much discussion on this topic because France has initially put reforms on the agenda and then enlargement.
As quoted by the Serbian media, the French diplomat has said that progress in normalising Serbia's reports with Kosovo is possible even without passing <x0-line red lines”.
Ambassador Cochard said this at the Copenhagen 30th-year Business Forum in the “panel, the future of the EU and the Western Balkans”, where US and German ambassadors Christopher Hill and Anke Konrad, as well as the chief of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emmanuel Geofre.
