Stano told Radio Free Europe that <x0 selectors are the cornerstone of democracy” and in this context said the EU regrets that the Serbian List has not taken advantage of its democratic right to participate in the upcoming local elections.
The Serb list is the largest Kosovo Serb party, but it refuses to participate in the elections in northern Kosovo municipalities with the reasoning that their calls for return to Kosovo institutions, or the formation of the Serb majority municipalities' association and the removal of Kosovo special units from the north, have not been met.
The extraordinary elections for the mayors of northern Mitrovica, Leposaviqi, Zvecan and Zubin Potok are scheduled for 23 April, after Serbian List leaders resigned in November last year due to the Kosovo Government's decision to implement the process of reregistering Kosovo's license plates.
Earlier, on March 24th, the Quint ( The US, Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy also expressed regret that the Serbian List did not exploit their “democratic right to participate in the elections and highlighted that they were set in line with the” laws.
