He has said it is the problems created by Hashim Thaci and Isa Mustafa with Zajednicas who have created them and the problems that are creating like this of US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill, that the deal is not for Albanians, but only for Serbs.
Through a Facebook post, Basha has asked the ambassador to read some of the agreements, since it appears that he has not read them right or is not right in the assessment.
His full post:
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has two main problems in the dialogue for normalisation with an abnormal rival:
A) problems that have created them, which are Hashim Thaci's Zajednica (2013) and Isa Mustaf (2015), and
b) problems that are creating us unnecessarily, such as this statement by US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill, who has today stated that the deal is only for the privileged Serb community, but for that Albanian community it is not worth it.
Ambassador, read the deal.
The preamble of the EU-admitted Base Agreement in the third sentence speaks of “national minorities” (so, sum, non-communicable, the more that under the Constitution in Kosovo there are non-communication communities, while right in Serbia there are national minorities).
The other, in Article 1 of this Base Agreement on February 27th and March 18th 2023, concerns “good neighbourly relations”, which in the EU also imply fair treatment of respective national minorities.
Moreover, Article 5 of the Base Agreement refers to Article 2 of the European Union Treaty, which also calls for minority rights as fundamental value.
So U.S. Ambassador Hill has either not read the deal, or he's not right in the assessment!
