The number of dead from armed attack at a U.S. school goes to 7

It was 10:13 p.m. (local time) when police sounded the alarm at Covenant School after the shooting reports.

Strong police forces surrounded the area and urged parents who have gone to the scene, concerned about the fate of their children, to stay at a safe distance.

Nashville police spokesman Ron Thomas said the attack was carried out by a teenage girl whose identity has not yet been disclosed, who was armed with two assault rifles and a pistol.

It was surrounded by five policemen and died of their shooting.

Some 200 students between the ages of 12 are taught in this private school.

Tens of armed attacks were recorded last year in American schools. In May, an 18-year-old killed 19 children and two teachers at a school in Uvalde, Texas.
