Those are the words Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, Kosovo Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Minister Donika Grovalla-Schwartz, has told Croatian media.
Milanovic and Gervalla-Schwartz, which is on an official visit to Croatia, discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, the current plan for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, Kosovo's membership in the United Nations and other international organisations.
“President Milanovic confirmed to Minister Gervalla-Schwartz that Kosovo has always had and can continue to count on solid support from Croatia when it comes to international affirmation of Kosovo's independence and the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo”, Telegrafi is quoted as saying in a statement.
“We expect all members of the European Union to recognise Kosovo's independence”, he has said further, according to the media communiqué.
In addition, Milanovic reportedly welcomed efforts towards normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, which would ensure long-term stability in Southeast Europe and European prospects for the entire region.
Croatian media recall the fact that Kosovo's independence is not recognised by five EU members: Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Spain and Slovakia.
