On April 3rd, when the trial against Thaci and others is envisioned, the opening statement of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office will last up to five hours. While, former President Hashim Thaci's defence will have three hours for her opening address, Kadri Veselin's team 45 minutes, the protection of Rexhep Selimi an hour, while Krasniqi's one and a half hours.

The chairman of the court, Charles L Smith, has asked the parties to respect the time until he has stressed that defenders should focus on charges and avoid statements of political nature.

The act against former KLA leaders, regarding the war crimes claim, has been confirmed on October 26, 2020. In their first presentations at the Specialised Chambers in The Hague, they have been declared innocent.

They are staying in custody at The Hague since November 2020.

On April 29th, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office has handed over a amended indictment against Thaci and others where it claims the accused committed war crimes in Gjilan, Budakov and Semetish.
