APK: 75 public officials have been prosecuted in prosecutor for failing to declare property

“During 2022 in the process of preliminary investigation in terms of not declaring property Agency for Prevention of Corruption has handled a total of 125 cases, of which 75 have been forwarded for further proceedings in competent institutions”, Demi has said of “IndexOnline”
According to her, the process of the annual declaration of property has begun to fulfil the Law on Declaration, Obligation and Property Control of High Public Officials and Declaration, Obligation and Check of Gifts, up until now about 30 public officials have made the annual regular declaration of property.
It has added that in terms of the regular annual wealth declaration, the Agency for Prevention of Corruption has sent all information to public institutions and has demanded that annual property reporting in line with the legal requirements and guidelines of the APK.
“From information currently owned by the Agency, the number of public officials who are obliged to declare property is over 4,700 officials, however, based on legal duties and responsibilities, the Agency is in constant communication with contact officials of public institutions to secure lists of all officials tasked with declaring property”, Demi has said.
