Abdixhiku after meeting with Hovenier: Kosovo needs agreement with mutual recognition

US Ambassador Jeff Hovenier has gone to the LDK offices today, announced the party's chairman, Lumir Abdjiku. Even after this meeting, he hints that the LDK has not changed its stance over the European proposal, which internationals ask to support. Abdixhiku says the LDK stands behind it that all signed agreements [...]

Abdixhiku says the LDK stands behind that all agreements signed in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia -- that is, the formation of the Serb majority municipalities' Association -- must be implemented. But, the LDK says the agreement with Serbia should be focused on mutual recognition. No other agreement, according to Obadiah, guarantees normalisation of reports with Serbia.

On the other hand, it says that with the US ambsandor, it has talked about two provisions of the European proposal for normalising Kosovo reports, Serbia, which Prime Minister Albin Kurti has accepted.

Obadiah's full delivery:

It is my special pleasure to wait at the offices of the LDK for the ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffrey Havenier.

The foundations of our co-operation are historical, and upon them we will continue to build the common future.

We talked about political developments in the country and the dialogue process. The ambassador I announced on the already made public stance of the Democratic League of Kosovo on the dialogue process. The LDK has always given support to the dialogue process, with EU mediation and direct involvement of the US. The LDK also supports implementation of all agreements that have been reached in the process.

The LDK reiterates that Kosovo needs a deal focused on mutual recognition, and that no other agreement guarantees normalisation of Kosovo relations Serbia. At the meeting we also released our views on Preambull, Article 7 and Article 10 of the text of the agreement.
