Every year 100 Kosovo Police members resign voluntarily. And since the establishment of this institution, more than 22,000 uniformed police officers have quit. It has been made known for Online Economy, Kosovo Police Union Chairman Imer Zeqiri.
The main reasons for abandoning the KP are salaries that do not offer a dignified life, lack of health and life insurance, lack of conditions, etc.
Chief union leader Zeqiri says concern is the growth of this trend in recent years. He stresses that abandoning work by officials is harmful to the institution itself, but also to the state, since it has been heavily invested in them.
Volunteer resignations are a concern for the Kosovo Police, because they are on the rise. Almost every year, we have 100 or over 100 voluntary resignations, from the founding of the Kosovo Police, and so far we have over 22,000 voluntary Kosovo Police resignations”.
I think this is an extremely harmful phenomenon that harms the security institution, but the state as well because of all those states. That means there's been an enormous waste of”
He has a call on behalf of the union for institutions. The government will turn its attention to the security institution because we are the most creditable institution and among the most important institutions in the country”, he has said.
The main reasons, according to Zeqiri, for running such a large number of police are working conditions and undignified wages. He also mentioned a lack at a time of logistics.
We've really had shortages in the logistical part of the past year, whether it's uniforms, whether cars, cars, other transporters, or even technology tools. This has been an obstacle because in the Kosovo Police, some 25 projects have passed all tender procedures, but due to a long absence of the Procurement Organising Board have remained blocked. Some have already begun to reconsider and some to return from the start with” procedures, Zeqiri said.
As for the Law of Salaries, Zeqiri says it has disappointed the police member even more. He has said that the salary would increase dissatisfaction and resignations from this institution.
The “will affect increased discontent and will probably affect the increase of voluntary resignations in this regard. Otherwise, I think it would positively influence whether a law or a more dignified salary was made for members of the Kosovo Police, including both categories, including the uniformed share of civil staff”.
Whenever a man is looking for another job, he finds it with a higher salary. One concrete example; we have many members of police who have been passed by their resignation in the police, have been licensed as lawyers, because they have had the Jurisprudence faculty, have passed the Jurisprudence exam, and have been passed to the lawyer, and financially have jobs far better”, Zeqiri said.
Security Affairs connoisseur Hajrullah Ternava has said that the cause of the salary, KP members are forced to migrate abroad. He has called on institutions to take action against this phenomenon.
By developing life so far, police are clearly very materially miserable because with such a salary, what the police have, it is difficult to face the month. The main cause, therefore, is material grounds; otherwise, there are other conditions. It is the only Kosovo police that have no health insurance and many other issues. With wages received in this situation, it is very difficult to afford the month”, Ternava has said of Online Economy.
Looking at the movement of young people in Western countries, they are finding reasons and reasons for these too to go to ensure a better life and a better future. These circumstances that I mentioned are obvious, so every year there's talk of something going on in this direction, but people losing hope”, he said further.
