French lawmakers on Monday rejected the proposal for the government's no-confidence motion, which led to the adoption of France's controversial pension reform plan.
There have been tensions between protesters and police in Paris. Demonstrators in the French capital gathered at various locations such as the Saint-Lazare station, Places de République and Bastille.
Protesters turned the garbage containers upside down on the streets of the capital and set them on fire.
Local media reported that 113 protesters were arrested in Paris.
Reforms include increasing the retirement age from 62 to 64, as well as at least 43 years of work to qualify for full retirement.
The plan has sparked public outrage since it was proposed last year, prompting mass protests and strikes across the country since January.
