KKP condemns Haxhiu's language: It's an attempt to interfere with the prosecutor's work.

The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has condemned the language that Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu used today to address prosecutor Ilaz Beqiri, who was called on to surrender.

From the KKP, they have asked Minister Haxhiu to refrain from such statements, as they say they influence the independent work of justice.

“The KKP called on Minister Hadziu once again to refrain from continuing threats to Kosovo's prosecutorial system in general and against the work of prosecutors in particular, because its used language is an attempt to intervene in the independent work of State Prosecutor”, the communique said.

Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has called on prosecutor Ilaz Beqiri to surrender and withdraw from the indictment for tear gas as there is no expertise and facts.

Therefore, though after seven years I ask the prosecutor to surrender, withdraw from the indictment. It's never too late to take such action”, Hadziu declared.

Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) condemns the language with the threatening content of Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu, to Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor Iliaz Beqiri, used at today's court hearing against her in which she is accused of throwing tear gas in the Kosovo Assembly.

The KKP called on Minister Haxhiu once again to refrain from continuing threats to Kosovo's prosecutorial system in general and against the work of prosecutors in particular, because its used language is an attempt to intervene in the independent work of the State Prosecutor.

On the other side, The KKP will continue strongly to support and protect with all legal means available to the professional work of all Kosovo Republic prosecutors.
