The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, last night visited the “Bebezas of goods”, of photos Korab Krasniqi and curator Vesa Sahatciu dedicated to children killed, missing and affected by the war in Kosovo.
In addition to being a special memorial space, this open exhibition at the Ministry of Justice is also the invitation for reflection about how we think and represent defeat, individual or collective.
Full word of Prime Minister Kurti:
“
Where the newborn baby was killed
And her father
It had to be 20 years.
To find morto remains and give to her mother
She just took the bones in her hand,
It brought them to her breast.
He waited for me?
He said he didn't grow up.
He smiled.
Just before the earth opened
It swallowed it. ”
These are verses of our late poet Jevdet Bayray, for the depth of the loss, homesickness.
That's what we're finding here tonight, in a certain dimension, with memories of children and memories of children at war.
Dear Justice Minister Mrs. Haxhiu Albulen,
Your Honour for the fair, Mrs. Vesa Sahatciu,
Your Honor. Korab Krasniqi,
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
We have this exhibition, titled poet “The children of the goods”, dedicated to children killed, missing and affected by the war in Kosovo. It tells us about the stolen “child”. Like the title of the book of memory on which it is based.
In addition to being a special memorial space, this exhibition is also an invitation for reflection and involvement in discussion about how we think and represent loss, individual or collective.
Gratitude and gratitude for co-ordinating the efforts of our institutions and partners that have enabled the implementation of this project.
These events, except that they collect memories and share pain, serve our collective memory, for the past, never to forget it.
To honour and exalt the memory of children killed and missing during the war, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is engaged in the project for the memorial dedicated to them.
Our freedom is rooted in the fallen for freedom. Killing children in Kosovo is Serbia's worst crimes. So we owe it to the freedom and peace that we enjoy, to justice that we intend never to forget.
Eternal be the memory of all children killed during the war in Kosovo!
Thank you.
